The Projector Bikes Illumination Trail Lights Up Harrogate

The Projector Bikes are back in Harrogate on October 18, when dazzling lights and magical animations will light up the town for a special evening of family fun.

This free event, part of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, sees one-of-a-kind bikes roaming through the town, projecting enchanting animations onto iconic buildings and streets as part of a special illuminated trail.

The Projector Bikes, by artist Dan Fox, proved a big hit when they were last in Harrogate in 2021, with visitors treated to a host of mesmerising images from sea creatures to dancing teapots.

There are two free tours that people can follow; the first at 6.30pm and the second at 8pm starting from Harrogate’s cenotaph before winding its way around the town centre.

Rachel Tunnicliffe, Senior Partner at Raworths Solicitors, said: “We are incredibly proud to support Harrogate International Festivals in bringing this fantastic event to the town. Not only does it put a spotlight on Harrogate it really brings the whole community together and promises to be a wonderful evening.”

Sharon Canavar, Chief Executive of Harrogate International Festivals, said: “We’re delighted to see the return of The Projector Bikes which proved so popular the last time they were here.

“This free family-friendly event is perfect for an autumn evening stroll. So whether you’re pushing a pram, bringing your dog, or simply walking hand-in-hand with loved ones, get ready for an unforgettable evening of light, sounds and fun – see you there!”

This month also sees the return of the family-friendly Raworths Book Trail in Harrogate’s Pinewoods which runs throughout October and November. The challenge is to find all 10 Harrogate Book Trail signs, each featuring a riddle inspired by a much-loved classic children's book, with the chance to win some great prizes.

This year’s Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival runs from October 10-20, featuring some of the biggest names in politics, sport, comedy and broadcasting. Special guests include former prime minister Theresa May, legendary broadcaster Dame Joan Bakewell, The Yorkshire Vet's Julian Norton, acclaimed novelist Victoria Hislop, cricketing star Monty Panesar and English football icon Peter Reid.

The Projector Bikes is a FREE event taking place on Friday, October 18. There are two tours starting at 6.30pm and 8pm from Harrogate’s cenotaph. For more information visit Home - Harrogate International Festivals
