Harrogate BID Team Invited To Represent Uk BIDs At Prestigious Business Event In Rotterdam
Members of the Harrogate BID team were thrilled to be invited to represent Business Improvement Districts from the UK at a prestigious overseas event this week.
The BID’s Chief Executive, Matthew Chapman and Operations and Projects Executive, Bethany Allen, attended the sold-out conference in Rotterdam in the Netherlands this week.
Matthew was invited along to speak on the work that the Business Improvement District carries out in Harrogate to maintain the North Yorkshire town’s reputation as a must-visit destination and a fantastic place to work, visit and live.
Speaking on the event, Matthew Chapman said: “It’s an honour to be invited to speak at a respected event such as this.
“I was pleased to share details on the positive initiatives we deliver as the BID, all while learning from other place managers on the resources we need to build resilience and be prepared better for the future.
“Whether it was sharing information on our three key objectives and business plan, or learning from European colleagues on emerging trends, it really was a great experience for us.
“We’re very grateful for the invite and look forward to potentially working on further projects together in the future.”
Organised by Chainels, a community engagement platform, the City Connect event brought together key speakers including chief executives, managers and trainers from countries including Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK to share their knowledge and insights from working in different industries and sectors.
The topic of discussion was future-proof urban communities and focused on building urban resilience, featuring discussions on challenges, practical solutions and new ideas.
